The Bop It Card Game Project: Is it possible to capture the fast, fun, physical play of Bop It in a deck of cards? I’ve been toying with the idea of a Bop It card game for several years, prototyping and testing dozens of variations, but none of them truly delivered the simple and irreverent party experience worthy of the Bop It name…until now!
I’ve made 40 signed prototypes to help fund continued development for a Kickstarter later this year. The artwork is very preliminary but totally playable so you can be one of the first to play (and own what could be a Bop It collectors’ item!) AND if/when this gets made for real I will send you one of the first production copies as an additional thank you for helping fund the project!
How do you play? In this version, YOU get to be the voice of Bop It when you play a card and tell the next player what action to do. Then they must simply Twist, Pull, Shake, Spin or Flick the correct card before time runs out. It comes with a FREE Bop It Timer download for any device to give the game an authentic Bop It beat and all the fail sounds you love! It also has a few new ‘gotchas’ like a SHOUT IT phrase (which players get to make up so it get’s a bit …rowdy) and a COLORS mode where you must really focus to avoid doing the wrong action. It’s all designed to create laughs, cries, and quite a bit of cussing…just like Bop It!
